Posters must abide by these rules:

    1. The site(s) topic or theme from which links will be provided should be identified in the post.
    2. The site(s) must be relevant sites for gaming webmasters.
    3. The nature and requirements for the link exchange or purchase must be specified, including defining the time frame the link will remain active.
    4. Multiple redundant posts and threads are not permitted. When they are made the redundant post will be deleted.
    5. No Display Ads (although you may sell display advertising on your own sites)
    6. Posts will be moderated and posts that do not conform to these rules will not be tolerated and will be deleted.
    7. Payment terms must be disclosed and agreed to by both parties (during private contact).
    8. One thread per member per major topic or theme, you can update the thread. Multiple threads will be deleted/archived.
(OP may obviously follow up with any members questions etc, but we ask that you only update or bump the thread on an occasional basis that is reasonable, usually no more then once per month.)
    9. You may post a link to the site you are selling the link on if you choose to do so, but you may not mask link with a url shortener.

Default Best Practices and Suggestions when Negotiating with Buyers and Sellers

Instances of complaints or conflicts between buyers and sellers are not the responsibility of the GPWA, so we have listed some suggestions below which may help inspire buyers to ask the appropriate questions to reduce confusion and or conflicts.

The following questions are suggestions or best practices only. During initial personal contact with sellers, buyers may want some of the following questions answered, but it is a case of buyer beware, so be sure you understand the terms of any purchase before finalizing the sale or agreement.

Instances of complaints about sellers' infractions of any of these can not be acted upon directly, but if in fact the seller disclosed these up front before purchase was completed, and they then violated their own disclosed terms, please let us know so we may monitor such cases and are made aware of any instances or patterns of abuse.

Best Practices and Suggestions when Negotiating with Buyers and Sellers:

What website will my ad/link appear?

How long has the site been in operation?

How long will the ad/link stay active?

Approximately how many words will the article (if included) be?

If you need to edit the article I submit, will changes be approved by me before the content is published?

Will the article or advertisement have any additional classification such as "advertisement" "advertorial" "sponsored by" "authored by"?

Will a logo or brand identifying artwork also be included?

Will the link be html tagged as follow or nofollow?

What forms of payment are accepted?

How long after payment before the link/ad is published?

Sellers may want to consider covering most of this during initial contact, in order to speed up the process since more buyers may in fact ask such questions.

Additional best practices to be added to above list

Once provided a list of sites to potentially buy links from, find out if the site owner is also a GPWA Member. If they are a member, consider asking them if the person selling links on their site are authorized to do so. Buying links through a link broker is not always a bad thing since sometimes the site owner might delegate their link sales to others, such as a dedicated seo person or another member of their team so they do not have to deal with the logistics of the actual sale.

At NO TIME does any person need access to a member's personal computer in order to perform website development for others.

A web developer may possibly need server access (such as cpanel access, phpmyadmin, ftp or admin rights in wordpress) but at no time should access be provided to your personal computers such as through anydesk.
