Is AI content worth using after the latest google update?
Have you noticed that Google specifically stated they did not want sites to use AI?
If you have a site that loses rank because you have AI generated content, we all certainly hope that using even more AI content will help.
Google stated recently
We have a thread discussing Google's latest update here“Our long-standing spam policy has been that use of automation, including generative AI, is spam if the primary purpose is manipulating ranking in Search results. The updated policy is in the same spirit of our previous policy and based on the same principle. It’s been expanded to account for more sophisticated scaled content creation methods where it isn’t always clear whether low quality content was created purely through automation.”

You mentioned that-
"If you have a site that loses rank because you have AI generated content, we all certainly hope that using even more AI content will help."
Using more AI content will help? Are you sure..
Please explain it little bit more ..
Sorry about that I worded that incorrectly and didn't catch the mistake, my apologies.
It should have been worded,
If you have a site that loses rank because you have AI generated content, why would you think or hope that using even more AI content will help?

It's not whether or not you used AI to produce the content that is important, its whether that content fits the requirements of Google's Helpful Content guidelines, and other guidelines.
If you just use AI to produce 1,000s of articles and you don't sub-edit them to a decent standard and make sure they have value to a reader, you are going to suffer. Best use of AI in my opinion, and consensus seems to agree, is to research subjects and build first drafts. But you need to refine them before publishing. And always think about whose going to read it and whether it has value / use.

I agree. Google doesn't have anything against people using AI as a research tool, even coping and pasting elements. It is talking about people that use AI to generate thousands of pages to manipulate rankings.

It all depends on how you use AI. You obviously don't want to misuse it and then when Google find out about it, they give you a huge penalty for it. Definitely not worth it in the long run and nobody should take such silly risks at all.
I agree. It all comes down to how you use the tools you have at your disposal.
Is AI worth using? For me, it's a 100% yes. The latest update from Google aims to reduce spam by discouraging lazy people who create high volumes of low-quality content in the hopes of manipulating rankings and earning a few bucks.
In my opinion, it's all about how you use AI tools.
At the end of the day it's all about helping people with your content, from your website.

AI content is a great tool for creating content that engages your audience and saves time as long as you use it responsibly.
AI produces nothing. An AI is fed learning data beforehand, data that came from sites, sites that ACTUALLY produced it. Once it's trained the AI can give you the answers but it's all based on a third party produced data. How was that data obtained, in terms of the copyright law? Probably illegally.
Beyond the point, let's be honest those so eager to use AI to "produce" content are either lazy, or unable to write and see it as the shortcut to success. And maybe it does work, for now that is. Essentially you are not "producing" anything, you are not improving at anything, and you are 1 update away from becoming obsolete.
It's a tool to enhance your capabilities not replace them. And from what I see around here people want the replacement part not the enhancement part.

It depends. Personally, I would never replace content written by a real person: it is much more authentic, with feelings, and it resonates better with the reader. But I'm not against using artificial intelligence to obtain relevant insights or help during a moment of creative block.
AI can be a tool used by experts, or a two year old. You'll get wildly different results from someone who knows how to write the correct prompt and somebody who knows nothing about AI at all.
