Question

And what happens if affiliates forget to complete "those few clicks" or, for some reason what so ever, is unable to do so for let's say a period of 12 months?

Hi Pjotter,

first: who forgets to collect open money for more than one year? Would you?
second: every affiliate will be receiving an automated email at the end of each months reminding him to generate his invoice
third: as our service level is really high, account managers are in constant touch with their affiliates and will not leave this out.

we can now ensure faster commission payments

awesome, so instead of the usual 3 weeks (at least), we now will be able to get our bwin-commission more or less around the same time, that...

*drumroll, please*

ALL THE OTHER REPUTABLE PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN PAYING US FOR YEARS !!!

Sure, this deserves taking away 87.5% of my commision from 3-year players.

Hi Mallai,

Since you don't want to answer my question, I think we should let everyone know that the BEWINNERS terms also state that commission that is not invoiced in due time is forfeited and deducted from the affiliate's account.

But even though you do not answer my question, you almost prove my point. If all affiliates claim their money as expected, why do you think a term stating that affiliates' hard earned commissions are forfeited and deducted by BWIN if not invoiced is necessary?

BEWINNERS simply has too many terms stating that affiliates wont earn what they should from their efforts, and to complete this BEWINNERS even has a term stating that should affiliates earn anything, despite of your efforts to reduce commissions, then affilates will forfeit commission if not invoiced in due time.

Please bear in mind that almost all affiliate programs make payments automatically, so that affiliates don't have to waste time on some stupid payment processing system.

You come here advertising for some advantages of your program that are really way below industry standard. If your terms in general treated affiliates as equal partners, I probably wouldn't mind, but I am just warning my colleagues here.

AND BTW: I just checked and I haven't created an invoice since January 2008 and BWIN owes me €135,95. I haven't received any emails and no account manager has ever contacted me. So I guess I am an example where you would cash in!!!

Hi all,

Pjotter: please send me your name and email adr. via private mailing or via the forum so that your account manager can get in touch with you regarding the open invoice.
The reason why this 12-months period is stated in the T&Cs is simple: we want you to generate your invoice.
We have to create reserves for affiliates that don't bill their invoices for years and this is simply not necessary- I am sure you agree on this.

Simply paying the affiliates without having them jump through hoops makes more sense if you really are trying to create an affiliate friendly program. Why do they need to generate an invoice? You know what you owe them, just pay them!

mallai,
Do you have to generate an invoice before they issue your pay cheque?

Food for thought...

We all know (I know, I do anyway) half a dozen people, who tried this business, opened up a few portals, acquired some players, made a few bucks here and there and then, due to whatever reasons, slowly stopped working on their sites until they eventually stopped renewing the domain.

No bill from these guys -> no payment from bwin -> mission accomplished

I bet you one more thing:

The "old" affiliatelinks will stop to forward correctly reeeeeally soon after the lauch of "bewinners", thereby instantly voiding hundreds, if not thousands of bwin-affiliatelinks especially on those more or less "forgotten" domains and pages.

AGREED!

They must be hoping that many will not bother and/or forget to complete the forms so they won't have to send out payments.

On a side / related note - isn't this the program that just put quite a few other predatory terms in place as well?

So, Mallai, you actually agree that some affiliates will ALSO loose money on this particular term?

Remove this term and the below mentioned if you want to treat affiliates FAIR:

1. 5% rule - after 3 years our commissions drop to 5%
2. 90 day rule (don't sign a player in 90 days your affiliate account is closed)
3. 3 months if your tracked player does not deposit you lose him (untagged)
4. Reduced commission on cross earnings

These have got to be some of the worst, if not the worst, terms I have ever seen as an affiliate.

Even seeing one in a program is bad but to have them all together is affiliate suicide to use.

I suspect that Mallai is so far down the food chain that whatever we are telling him will probably gets no further than his direct supervisor.

And even if you go against Bwin like Grand Prive it simply will not have the same effect, not when they can spend 100s of millions on sponsorship every soccer season as well as TV advertising all over Europe and so on, damn even Lady Gaga had a Bwin poker table in her song poker face.

I would suggest the best method is to identify the board members and email them direct, show them what is happening on the forums and so on and appeal to their better nature.

If that fails then look at other alternatives of getting the boards attention.
