Can Swansea maintain their 100% record at Chelsea?
Conor Creamer (@ConorC_ on Twitter ) takes a detailed look at this weekend’s ?0,000,000 Colossus pool. Read on for a preview or click here to read the full article!
Chelsea v Swansea:
Head to Head (EPL): Chelsea 4-2-0 Swansea
Last 5 Meetings:
13/14 – SWA 0-1 CHE
13/14 – CHE 1-0 SWA
12/13 – CHE 2-0 SWA
12/13 – SWA 1-1 CHE
11/12- SWA 1-1 CHE
The Premier League leaders meet at Stamford Bridge where the Blues star striker Diego Costa is a real doubt after severing his injury on the International break this past week. The Spaniard has made an instant impact in England, netting four times already. Though if he is unavailable Mourinho can immediately turn to fellow new signing Loic Remy who has been training alone in Cobham.
Swansea have limited injury concerns where Garry Monk will be hoping to maintain the Swans superb 100% record where they’ve recorded three victories over Manchester United, Burnley and West Brom respectively. Two men at the centre of these performances is the return of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Nathan Dyer. Sigurdsson has been instrumental so far this campaign with an assist and a goal to him name already whereas Dyer has been a revelation in front of goal – scoring three goals.
There’s no doubt that it will very difficult for Swansea to continue their form at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea who look an exciting well-oiled machine with their big name summer signings. The Blues have only lost once under Mourinho’s guidance at home but they leaked goals against Everton and Burnley. Swansea looked solid in defence with Ashley Williams at the heart of conceding only one league goal this campaign, but they are yet to defeat the West London club in six EPL meetings. Chelseas world-class talent in attack should see them prevail though I can see it being a tight affair.
Prediction: 2-1 / 1-0
Sunderland v Tottenham:
Head to Head (EPL): Sunderland 5-4-17 Tottenham
Last 4 Meetings:
13/14 – TOT 5-1 SUN
13/14 – SUN 1-2 TOT
12/13 – TOT 1-0 SUN
12/13 – SUN 1-2 TOT
Tottenham travel to Sunderland off the back of another heavy defeat to Liverpool at White Hart Lane where they may be without right-back Eric Dier who pulled out of the England U21 last week. He will undergo a fitness test in the next couple of days. Mauricio Pochettino could bring in two new signings Federico Fazio and Benjamin Stambouli to his starting XI, a pair that will add steel to the Spurs side – something Liverpool scrutinised in their victory two weeks ago. Sunderland have new loan signing Ricky Alvarez near 100% fitness after an outing for Argentina this week.
Spurs will need to respond after their reality check to Liverpool, Pochettino will ensure his team show more tenacity at the Stadium Of Light as they’ll be up against another physical battle with Cattermole, O’Shea and Brown featuring. Erik Lamela will look to continue his tremendous form from pre-season and the current campaign in this fixture; he’s been a stand-out for Spurs in their opening three games showing real ambition when in possession – a factor he lacked the last campaign.
This fixture normally delivers goals, 5 of their last 6 encounters in Sunderland have seen both sides score. Whereas 4 of the last 5 games in all competitions have included over 2.5 goals. I expect to see Sunderland on the front foot early on, in an attempt to pour salt on Tottenhams wounds, and take advantage of a possible dip in confidence. I can definitely see both sides finding the net and continue recent trends.
Prediction: 1-1 / 1-2

I don't think Swansea will be able to maintain their 100% record. Chelsea is winning with 2-1 at this moment.
