To the Casino creative guys and gals

The day I get my site to a level where I send a shitload of customers to casinos on my index is the day I will start giving out rewards in all directions.
I received an e-mail with a new "fantastic" creative from a casino that they wanted me to use. I opened up the banner and what did I see... a banner with a competing portals name plastered all over. So they woted you best so and so, lucky you, but what on earth makes you think I would have such a banner on my site?
What surprices me the most is that the casinos let themself get sucked into this crap.

Lets say I just made you best casino of 2005, will you make a banner with my portal name on it aswell?

You do have a point Chill but remember, these awards are the "high profile" ones. Generally speaking, I will usually even go so far as to add the fact that a casino was Gambling Online's "Casino of the Year" or "Voted number one by Gambling.com readers". They are not live links to those sites and it's a play off of a player potentially typing the url in to find that site or being impressed that this casino won an award. I like to believe that boasting a casinos award winning performance adds to the casinos credibility.

It's too early to tell for sure but I have had that banner up for 10 days now and I have the highest number of downloads and players in my sites history at that casino.

Perhaps the dear lil ol Affiliate Manager will back me up LOLOL

Why put the name of the site in question on the banner, why not just "Voted Casino of the Year" and then let the user see it on their index after they have clicked my link.

It may be an idea to "smudge it" more than a bit. I will make sure the affiliate manager comes to see the idea right here

Actually, that's a very good idea Mr Chill. You never know, there may be loads of affiliates who will be happier if it's done that way.

I long since learned that you can only rely on a very few affiliates to open their mouths, the rest speak with actions only and never offer feedback to the programs.

So, a designer creates a banner and makes the font on the medal a bit hazy. Still looks award winning but they may get double the ad exposure? Not a bad idea at all.
