Default Commission Disappeared - No Explanation Given

Commission Disappeared - No Explanation Given

Starting around mid-March, when I logged into my ActiveWins > BetFred Sports affiliate account, a ~113 GBP commission appeared in the Total Commission column of my Dashboard > Quick Stats report.

I had never been paid by this program. I reached out to ask about minimum payment amount, methods, and timing. I received an answer and updated my affiliate account accordingly.

Over the course of mid-march to early-april, I periodically checked my account and the March report continued to show 113 GBP as total commission.

On April 11, I logged into my affiliate account and the commission disappeared from the March report.

Over the course of the next weeks, I was in contact with ActiveWins in an attempt to get an explanation. No sufficient explanation has been given.

    1. Instead, the program asked me to supply a screen capture of the report that showed the 113 GBP in the report. This is an unreasonable and inane request; in 10+ years as an affiliate, I have never had to take screen captures of mid-month reports to ensure that my commission is paid at the end of the month.
    2. My request to leverage their database backups to recreate mid-march reports went unaddressed. All affiliate programs should be taking and storing periodic database backups and be able to restore them in a test environment to investigate issues similar to mine.

I have provided to Anthony of the GPWA the following:
    1. All of the sent and received messages that were exchanged in the ActiveWins affiliate program messaging system.
    2. A skype transcript of my interaction with the affiliate program about this issue.
    3. A screen capture of my Google search history showing that I thrice checked for the exchange rate of 113 GBP to USD. I realize that it is easy to doctor such screen captures and search histories, but I stand on my reputation that I have not done so.

Here's what I would hope to achieve:
    1. I would like a credible explanation for this situation. If I am not owed the commission, that's fine; but ActiveWins needs to provide a credible explanation (with evidence) for what happened.
    2. Alert other affiliates to this situation; based on how it turns out and how it is handled in this forum by an ActiveWins representative, affiliates can decide for themselves if this is an affiliate program that they would like to do business with.

Robert, I am guessing you have already tried this but just in case,

Have you gone back in and tried running a few detailed report of different types like banner, earnings, traffic reports etc with different dates to see if the revenue is showing in other reports?

I agree asking you to show the report after the fact is not cool, and this type of request has taught me to get screen captures for groups on occasion, but this is no excuse.

March was the month of the Cheltenham festival - and typically that attracts new players (with bonuses) and also players who might lose and then try a chargeback which might have affected you at end of month ?

With BetFred / Active Wins using Income Access software there are two places where any deductions might show up.

The first is the earnings report where you will see a bonus column (usually with negatives) reflecting any customer bonuses given out during the month. The second is the payment history report which also has a bonus column (usually zero), which I understand reflects any chargebacks or extraordinary costs/fees that have occurred during the month.

Have you checked both of these reports?

I ran all of the following reports for March, none of which showed any commissions, registrations, chargebacks, bonuses: Earnings Report (by Date), Traffic Report (by Date) Banner Report (Detailed), Payment History Report.

I can understand that a player may have deposited, gambled, lost, and attempted a chargeback -- but if that were the case, then there should be a record of that reflected in one or more of these reports.

    Great.

Let me bottom-line this, from my perspective. This is a yes or no question.

Are you able to (1) create a test environment in which (2) you can restore a backup of your affiliate program stats database from any period between March 20 and April 1, and (3) view my Dashboard > Quick Stats report?

If not, there is nothing that either of us can do to prove our side of this.

    Thanks.

Amazingly, but not surprising to me, this program has not updated this thread in 2.5 weeks. This speaks volumes about how little importance this program places on responding in a reasonable amount of time to affiliate concerns such as the one that I have raised here. Readers of this thread should consider what has transpired here in this thread as they decide whether or not to do business with this affiliate program.

I expect no response, but I'll try one more time by repeating my very clear yes-or-no question:

"Are you able to (1) create a test environment in which (2) you can restore a backup of your affiliate program stats database from any period between March 20 and April 1, and (3) view my Dashboard > Quick Stats report?"

I guess the ActiveWins idea of shortly differs from that of Robert, or any reasonable amount of time.

    Hello Robert,

We apologise for not updating this thread. As we have been corresponding with you directly concerning this issue via email and Skype, we did not want to post your confidential details on the forum for security reasons. Our records show Adam sent an email to you on 12/05/16 with our findings. We do not have a phone number on file to contact you. If you can send me a direct message with your contact details, our affiliate director will be in touch to talk you through what was done to investigate this. Can you send those details across to me?

    Regards,
    Bernadette Kelly

You can post anything about my account here that you think is necessary. I am not concerned about any confidential details being posted here, so go right ahead if you are unable to obfuscate any confidential information -- although I cannot imagine why you would be unable to do that. It is more important for me to have a public, written explanation than for me to protect any confidential details that may be associated with this account.

And you STILL did not answer my question about a database restore. I sure hope you do in your written explanation.

Looks like ActiveWins and BetFred are too busy to respond to my thread since they are busy with other matters like:

ActiveWins Taking Funds & Closing Accounts:
    https://www.active-income.com/forum/activewins...ts-227706.html

And so I give up on ever recovering my funds... much less getting any kind of real answer to this thread.

    Future affiliates, take heed.

But thanks Anthony, for your efforts in trying to help here.

    Good afternoon Robert,

We have been working to find evidence across all departments to identify where we could find any activity on your account. After checking both the ActiveWins, Income Access, our Finance department and Betfred themselves, we found no activity generated via your account. Is it possible the activity could be under a different brand? We promote several programs. Or is it possible it was with another affiliate program?

In regards to a database restore, we can’t create a test environment, but we have manually checked and double checked every data source imported into the system, and no results showed for your account. -Regards, Bernadette
