    Cool Introduction, new member!

    Hello everyone,

Wanted to introduce myself. I'm a Nordic something person living in Southeast Asia for about half a decade or so. My background in the casino business started by placing bets as a 12-year old, then playing poker when I was a about 16, but my gambling career turned professional at 19 when I started working as a dealer for Blackjack, Roulette & Texas Hold'em.

However, I quit after almost a decade as a dealer (had my Bachelor's degree somewhere in between) and started translating iGaming content to Swedish. A few years later down the road I have moved mainly into writing original content but I still occasionally do some translations. I speak Finnish as well, understand it 100%, but my writing is not really up to par.

I have for many years thought about also creating some kind of blog or casino portal, and now is the time I feel like I can actually do it. So, I have started writing a lot of content, and so far I'm having a good flow. I still do not have any idea how the website will look like, I'm also trying to figure out the perfect layout for an article, but having written and read millions of words for probably 1000+ articles, so I think I will be able to figure out a nice format. Design is not really my thing though, but there's always people that can help with that.

If anyone has any questions about anything from a content writer's viewpoint, or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask.

    /K

    Welcome Mr K!

I am also a Swede based in Chiang Mai with a couple of years gambling knowledge in my backpack. Happy to see more Scandinavian affiliates outside of Malta

Good luck with your project - with your attitude I am sure you will make it!

Chiang Mai is great. I have only lived in Bangkok in Thailand though, but travelled the north several times. It's a fantastic place. Moved to Phnom Penh a few months ago though, it's small, but so far it's nice. Hit me up if you're ever around! Your website looks great though!

Always nice to hear about people in Cambodia, it often gets forgotten between Thailand and Vietnam My wife is from Phnom Penh, how are you finding it there?

Thank you! Sure I'm always up for some beers. Do you like craft beer? I'm probably making a small trip to Bangkok in March, depending on a few different factors, but let's stay in touch!

Well having been used to living in a huge city as Bangkok it feels very small. So far I've liked it though. There are enough places to explore for a few years at least. New nice cafes, bars and restaurants are popping up all the time. I kind of miss Thai food though. Have you visited Phnom Penh yet?

Hello daqwerty and welcome to GPWA. I’m from Australia (been living there my whole life) and I’ve been an affiliate for over 10 years now. All the best in your endeavours.

Hey daqwerty! I'd say you'll get the perfect layout only by experimenting and getting feedback from your readers when you start the project. Also, what kind of content are you writing?

Yes, spent a small amount of time there, on and off. Fascinating history! I'm surprised to hear that about the food, I love me some Cambodian.. Maybe I'm just biased though haha.

    Hey daqwerty,

I started my German casino blog something about 2,5 years ago and decided to leave my normal office job in the igaming industry just a few weeks ago.

From my experience I would advice you not to worry too much about the design in the beginning and not to overthink your blog. Be authentic, write your first 30+ articles, check how they perform (most likely 29 will not at all ) and continue learning and improoving.
For me it also worked out very well that i started putting affiliate links much later after i already saw some traffic coming in. Besides that - although i do not really post here often - i found the information here at gpwa quite useful.

    Good luck!
