Just made a new website - need to find out how to remove bad backlink.

Hey Guys,

So recently, I have just started my Online Casino Guidebook / Blog, and some random person has added a back-link linking to my site from a poor ranked site.

They have not asked for my permission, and I only found this out the other day - which I have already sent a few emails across, but no reply or response from their site owner.

Please can anyone help / give me advice on how to resolve this issue?

Well some say that a link is a link is a link, but if you really want the link removed and you can not get a response, you can always disavow the link.

You can't force a link removal from another webpage - the whole point of the internet is that pages link to other pages creating an "interconnection of networks" or "internet".

But if you are worried about the SEO ramifications (because you've been reading what so-called SEO experts say) then you can "disavow" the link in Google Webmaster tools - and the Google algo will ignore the links when calculating it's SERPs.

If you want to post the URL that's linking to you (with a gap somewhere in it so that it doesn't turn into a clickable link...although with post count I don't think it will anyway) you may get some comments on whether it really is one to worry about or worth trying to disavow/get rid of

I appreciate the advice & guidance people, I'm quite new to this so it's all a learning curve for me

So the site which is backlinking to mine is justcasinoreviews (.com), I've read on the net that poor backlinks can affect google ranking so I didn't want this to affect mine - If any link is better than none, then I may not have to worry and just leave it for now, focusing my time on building improved backlinks in the future.

mos to what you read is out of date, also many of these so called ranking sites are pure B$ using 1 million keywords from trillions and only ranking the popular words irrelevant on quality of content and return readership etc, there is only one true rank to go by and that is googles many of these sites claim to be as close as they can get.. for instance one SEO tool says one of my sites has a hand full of backlinks but, it has thousands of natural back links and gets much much more traffic than they quote, however many wannabe SEO'ers take this as gospel they are almost as bad as herbalife reps. the website you mentioned is actually fine.. a bad site would be a full on spam site, its pretty simple

Look at the site, if it looks ok i.e understandable content looks like effort has been put into it don't worry, don't take word of some false tool claiming to be the secret tool to what your competitors are doing and with a yearly subscription you too can get the secrets

I would't worry about it much. First, the site looks ok. Second, Google is not that stupid, if your tactics are legit, you won't be punished for 1,2, 3 sites adding your link. If it becomes a mass then you need to worry.

Just be sure the "random" person is not someone you paid. If you by any chance paid, it's fine, as long as you don't abuse this. Natural growth is what you should be looking for.
