Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Vanchester
It’s now over 5 years since Manchester City plastered its iconic ‘Welcome to Manchester?banner throughout the North West, and it seems the very thought of that stunt continues to leave a bitter taste around Old Trafford ?so much so that a poster lauding the arrival of Louis van Gaal, a man that the club believes has the attributes required to make last season nothing more than a minor technical glitch in the club’s illustrious recent history, has been produced.
The poster, confusingly supplied by BetFair, is a reply half a decade in the making ?a poster complete with an image of van Gaal looking as though he’s just managed to ride a bicycle without using his hands for the first time. At the time of writing ‘Welcome to Vanchester?has been trending on Twitter for over 2 hours, and that’s pretty much the greatest compliment any PR campaign can be awarded.
