curious how the prices are formulated for these domains.
One might speculate that somebody just picks a random number between 1 and 20,000

(nothing strikes me as particularly valuable in terms of branding or huge SEO potential). I guess I expected to see something 'different' given the promise your domain name promises to deliver.

Fair question and comments ddm. Domain pricing is NOT an exact science as you probably know. It actually sucks and is like pulling teeth to put a price on some of these things. It's a very subjective process and so many things go into it.

    1) Studying past domain sales in similar niche's or of "similarity" to the domain you are pricing.

    2) Talking to other "domainers" in this niche and understanding their pricing strategy.

    3) Looking at other "for sale" domains out there and then deciding if you want to be higher/lower/same/etc.

    4) Understanding if the domain is a long term play or short term. Meaning, are we ok holding a domain for 5+ years? If so, can price it higher and wait until that perfect buyer comes along... If we want cash now or quicker, price it lower and move on.

    5) Taking a look at the industry and "predicting" what the future might hold. I'll admit most of the domains we like most in our portfolio are in the USA Sports Betting space. That's the world I live in. I think there are some really good ones there that operators and maybe even affiliate groups will snatch up (BettingColorado, USAWager, BetsFlorida, etc)...

    6) Trying to judge things like keyword strength, domain authority, age of domain, brandability, etc...

Somehow trying to use a combination of these 6 things to come up with a price is about how it goes. And yes, that sometimes ends up feeling like pulling a random number out of a machine. A few other things to keep in mind.

-- Some of the sites listed are brokered. So we take the BIN price the end user wants and list that.
-- We encourage offers. Typically somewhere between the price listed and the offer prices is where the real "value" of a domain sits.

As for our domain collection branded as PremiumGamblingDomains.com -- AverageGamblingDomains.com just didn't have the same ring so we went with Premium

Thanks for the constructive feedback. Anyone that has been in domain sales understands pricing is the toughest part. I'm sure we will pivot, decrease, increase, fail a bit, succeed a bit, and just keep learning as we grow and make more deals.

    All part of business!

    Thanks!
    Ryan

Hey Ryan, I'm going through your site right now and just wanted to offer a suggestion. When I go to the 'Gambling Domains' section I see everything from casino to poker. Obv from a categorization standpoint all those things are gambling, but when I go to a domain site and click on 'Gambling' or 'Betting' domains I expect to see domains with those keywords like bestgamblingsites.this or bettingonline.that. Seeing a page full of poker domains and 10 more pages to go through makes me want to give up right away.

Anyway, best of luck with the site.

    Great feedback Kevin. Thank you!!!

Making a note to clean up the categories/parent categories so that's not as jumbled.

Hope all is well with you!
