As dfiocch mentioned in his article covering one of these discoveries, the software vendors are usually very strict in hosting both the real money and demo mode or free casino games on their own servers, and having their licensee's point their players to the software owner's servers in order to maintain quality control and offer a clean trusted and safe gaming environment.
Reports such as these has the potential to damage the credibility of the respective software providers and the industry as a whole and thanks go to those that have discovered and reported on this.
