SEO for comparison sport betting site

Hi all
I have a new site comparison of betting site with affiliate links.
I started to run SEO for the site, write reviews on the betting sites, show my offers and some articles on sport betting.
I plan to write at least 5 articles each week
Is SEO the right way to promote the site or do media buy?
can s comparison site be on top og google (even if it will take a year to get there) or I'm wasting my time and efforts?
can you share your experience?

Hey,

People often have different things in mind when they talk about SEO, but yes, it is the right way to go as far as I can tell.
"Can a comparison site have top search positions?" - Any site can have them and it really depends on what keywords you are targeting and how well you are doing that.

Have you done some research into what exactly you are looking to target? i.e. geo, keywords, what is your target audience, what brands you want to work with, how are you going to bring traffic to those brands, etc.

I'd say having answered all the above questions and working off of that will pay off way more than aiming at content volume.

Thank you for it. that's what I thought about SEO, TIER 1 GEOs will be hard to run SEO specially that the brands are try to be on top page of google.

It depends on multiple factors, and also on what you mean exactly by 'media buy'. But the assumption is this means buying ad placements that get your pages in front of organic listings (by whatever avenue).

On the face of it, the best end result is to achieve SEO success. Doesn't cost any money, right?

But it does. In time, in development, in optimization. etc.

If you could work out a clever/effective paid advertising approach, then - as long as your landing pages were crafted effectively - theoretically the return from advertising might outperform a pure SEO approach. And I'm sure it has (for some, I'm not one of them!) in the past and may still do.

But there are many variables involved in advertising, and you'd probably need to be very sure of the outcome or take very careful steps in the initial stages to test and prove the returns were enough to outweigh the cost.

SEO at the end will be cheaper than buying ads for the long run.
but it will take a lot of time to get there with SEO.
and yes, by doing SEO you spend money especially with your time (time=money)
