Cool SiGma - little summary :)

    Hi there

We are back from SiGma! Somebody sooner, somebody later like me - I always stay some extra days in Malta!
Was so great seeing dear and familiar faces again, soon after Berlin. But these faces were mostly...operators
Yes, not so many affiliates attended. It was actually pretty hard to find them. Even if you succeeded, it would turn out it's not affiliate, just someone somehow related to gambling, hiding under affiliate accreditation
Not like yellow usually, this time their colour of recognition was white, but almost everything you could see around was red!

But oh well! Not bad at all, in general! My personal impression is that SiGma was something like mini ICE - summer edition!
Not very big, with game suppliers, anti-fraud agencies, insurance, payment options, financial, betting and casino operators stands.

NetEnt announced Guns 'N' Roses video slot to be launched on 21st January, with small celebration! I was expecting this game this year, because I'm a fan of the group and can't wait to try out this game, while listening to greatest hits!

There was a special area for lectures and panel discussions. The one for affiliates was pretty interesting and it was a great opportunity to see affiliates gathered in one place, but of course, I couldn't go between seats, giving them my business card
Subjects I followed up there were about SEO and new trends in affiliate world.

Pre-registration and networking (together with poker tournament) on Intercontinental's 7th floor (or it was 5th) was such a great venue! Closing party was big and fun, held in very beautiful place! Everything about the organisation was really really well done and this conference was really nice new experience and time! Add a perfect weather (especially for November) to this and you can imagine!
As I said, the only flaw and sad thing was lack of affiliates.

Fruity Casa attended with 3 people team: John (CEO), Maikel and me. We had a cute branding corner, with fruity wallpaper and black carpet, so lots of people thought it was a booth and teased us why nobody was there
Here are some pictures I took!

Good to know not so many affiliates attended but that's also not such a good thing looked like you did well well done.

    Hi there

After a little bit more than a month, I had to come back to this thread with the updates!
Seems like SiGma was more than successful to me than it might look from my original post. Meanwhile, I received so many new, useful emails from the people from different spheres of igaming. Made some great deals, including new affiliates!!
Even some job offers. A very good friend of mine (and affiliate manager) is moving to Malta, because she got an excellent job proposal at SiGma!

So, all in all, it was one great, great conference and I had to come back to share my hope that next year it's going to be even better and bigger - dunno if it's possible to say regarding organisation, since it was flawless! Definitely was worth attending!!

    Too many conferences now?
Or perhaps time for specialisation of channels at conferences?

I have been doing this for 16 years and I'll go to my SECOND conference next year.
We clearly have different performance metrics Jelena

Yep. Travel is an issue with 40-48 hours each way plus the conference itself and a gap day.
Easily takes up 8-9 days and costs NZD $10-12K per person (GBP 5-6K each)

I wouldn't get far waiting for a conference to set-up a deal would I? .. So we do deals year-round via email.

I don't imagine I'll have any ad inventory or spare space to do any deals at conference.
(another reason why attending hasn't been a high priority)

This fits in perfectly with a trip to Euro2016 - so the cost is negligible - and I can spare the time.

I agree with Jelena. I also go to the conferences to meet new people and people I'm already working with. But it is also good to renegotiate some deals.
When my new project starts it will be good to meet new programs. Although I think I'll go with people I already know from previous conferences.

I also have to agree with the last thing, Jelena is a friendly person.

One of the iGB guys told me that the next Amsterdam conference will likely be the last one there. I'm pretty sure I didn't dream that since I wasn't drinking at that conference. I suppose Alex could confirm that.

I'll be sure to book in some time to see you there then. Seems us guys down under only ever meet up on the other side of the world.
