South African casinos

I have very small % SA traffic but still trying to make it work somehow. No matter what i do, i literally make nothing. Some just don't convert, and those that do are on 0 netgaming and some somehow always in negative.

Any suggestions? or any brands that are not RTG and actually manage to generate PV?

Hi Mark

The SA market certainly has become quite tough of late. I still get my best results from the RTG's there, however anybody who has gambled in SA has an account already at Silversands Casino and Springbok Casino so their conversions are no longer what they used to be. However if you can get it right with them, they are tops when it comes to paying their Affiliates and always have been ( I have worked with both of them for over 15 years and they have NEVER been late with a payment )

Yebo and Punt Casino are ok, but trying to get your earnings out of them is a song and dance every month, even though they do eventually pay after much chasing.

Zar Casino used to have brilliant conversions but they literally dropped to almost zero overnight ( eg last month I delivered 47 players and only 2 converted ) which is bad for them as they used to convert 1 in 4 players. This month I have delivered 17 players so far and no conversions.

Overseas Casinos that simply accept ZAR doesn't cut it with SA players as they like to see Rand landing pages, promotions in Rands etc. i.e Have the look and feel of a South African casino.

Hollywoodbets which is actually a sportsbook there is my best performer lately ( they offer casino games too ) and I think it is because they do a lot of tv advertising so get the exposure out to the public.

Fatbet Casino which is new also does ok, but at this point I have no idea how good they are with payouts as we have only just started promoting them and are just testing them out on a few sites.

I am looking for Affiliate Programs for South African (and other African countries) market. I need casinos preferably that offer progressive jackpots (for a jackpot trackerl) and games from various providers. Realtime Gaming casinos are a bit saturated in this market already. The only brand that has really done anything for us is Springbok Casino

Same for us - we've tried Thunderbolt but it's not as well-producing as Springbok which we really like.
So we try to push it more and more.....that's the biz.

Here's why conversions from South Africa aren't long term.

Overseas casinos that accept South African players do so knowing that due to archaic exchange control laws, a South African citizen can't legally send or receive money out the country for, or as proceeds of, gambling (that includes online).

Players may get away with depositing small amounts a few times on their credit card, but eventually the Reserve Bank contacts them regarding forex transactions. Famous cases include:
- a lottery winner overseas having the money confiscated when she brought it back in to the country.
- Hilariously, a couple getting fined for an overseas credit card transaction that read something like "Casino Venice". In reality, they just caught public transport (I think it was a ferry) while in Venice - the stop had that name.

Therefore, the only conversions that bring repeat business are from South African bookmakers that offer casino games (a far inferior product to a real online casino). However their affiliate deals are sub-par.

I guess it's complicated to bring new players to Hollywoodbets now, as they have such a wide media coverage and have been on the market for such a long time, at least in my experience. The same with other popular brands like supabets and bet_.co.za

Any advice which betting companies worth a look?

Well, if people are still successfully promoting Springbok Casino which has been operating for years, I don't think Hollywoodbets and Supabets are anywhere near saturation point in the SA market.

I've set up a co.za site, but find very few casinos who actually publicize a Welcome Offer in Rand for South Africaners.
Is it important / critical that the casino deal in Rand?
Or are South African players used to playing at US$ casinos and just convert the currency in their payment method?
Thanks a lot for any insights.....

Yes, it should be in rand as the Rand Dollar rate is always fluctuating, and no one uses USD in South Africa. I wouldn't bother with offers that are not in a local currency.

Are people in South Africa also interested in offshore sports betting?
Do you think there is a point in promoting sports betting in Afrikans language? I am referring exclusively to offshore operators.
Players are more likely to search in English or Afrikans?

99% of all South African websites are in English. I don't have any experience promoting offshore sportsbooks in South Africa, as there are now quite a few legal, locally licensed online sportsbooks operating here.
