Default Warning on Playshare Stats - Please Read

First let me say this is a very serious post.

I am not happy to be here. Especially since I have a history and this is not the first time I’ve had to fight to get my earnings from Playshare.

I have given it thought for some days and talked to others and was really trying to give Playshare the benefit of the doubt. Then I discovered more information which left me no choice whatsoever but to post in public and go through this together with peers for safety of other affs and transparency purposes. I also would like to post this openly for another reason that I will add later.

I’ll try to be brief and clear.

My earnings had been declining at Playshare. I have a long-time player who is a webmaster and respected private member here. I asked him to go ahead and deposit as a tester. He enjoys the casino too, never a problem.

On Nov 7th, he deposited $50.

My Playshare stats showed he deposited $25.

Ok, we give it a day and it remains the same. We decide to do another test.

On Nov 8th he deposited $50.

Again, my Playshare stats showed he deposited $25.

I waited another day and right now (11/10) PS still shows the discrepancy. I was very much dismayed. I really don’t want to go through all of this!

Trying to see if hopefully there was a glitch, I wrote to ask if the stats were working properly. The reply was yes, everything looked fine, and that PS could also check with Microgaming.

Upon further thought, I decided to check the players history. Sure enough, his deposits were cut by exactly 50% for October and Sept. He is a long time player and I looked back until May and did not see discrepancies before Sept but did not do a long history.

Not only that but, for example, the above mentioned $25 deposit, I was paid on only $23 even though there was not $2 left in his account. There is also a pattern of this.

    Here are the numbers:

    September:

    Player Deposit: 335.00
    PS stats show: 167.50

    October:

    Player Deposits: 400.00
    PS Stats show: 200.00

    November:

    Player Deposits: 100.00
    PS Stats show: 50.00

Also note that in November I have another player that PS reports deposited 15.47. I am not sure how that happens as the min deposit is $20.

During this time I also have other purchasing players.

Here is what I am requesting:

    1. A full audit on my account and explanation.

    2. A reason why we are not paid fully on purchases (ie: getting paid on $23 rather than $25)

    3. If ALL of my players deposits were cut by 50%

    4. How long this has been going on?

    5. If it is just happening to me, why is that?

    6. Repayment of Earnings Due.

Lastly, the other reason I wanted to post this here is because I know that Playshare will say that they can only pay on the data that Microgaming sends them. If that is the case, I request Microgaming explain exactly why this happened. Perhaps eCogra could be of assistance as well. This is something that is vital for all affiliates to know.

If I did not have this known player to help me test, I would be shorted again this month. There is a lot of talk about we can’t prove things. There is no disputing this. Screenies available.

    Affiliates, test your accounts!

Thank you everyone for listening and Playshare for your assistance on this serious matter.

Wow, just wow! Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I may have to post soon regarding an account that showed I was owed over $3400 revenue, but when I checked my daily/monthly stats there is no trail of how I earned the funds and when I asked my AM to provide some details he said to just be glad that I earned it.

To be clear it is NOT playshare.

I see no way they could ever explain this away.....ever....

First there will be the idea that this only happened to your account and no one elses....

Yea, ok so how is the MATH different on Mojo's account and no one else's?

Then there will be the fact that this was a temporary glitch and they will fix it and it will never happen again.

Ok, so why did the MATH change that 200 plus 200 equaled 200?

2 plus 2 must always equal 4 no matter whose account it is on....and if the math changes how can it change on only one unless their stats has the ability to subtract on specified accounts. (or maybe they used multiplication of 50% and show the results in the cell that the affiliate sees....

We just ran a test on Playshare and it tracked perfect. We then went back to 3 players we know used our banner with no doubt and asked their 3 months worth of deposits they made and they all checked out correctly.

I am the player in question here and just trying to keep things honest.

Happy as a player as far as that goes but from an affiliate end, its just not right.

Even if you find a way to explain only crediting the affiliate with 50% of deposits, there is still questions on how a program even subtracts more after that? After I make $50 deposit, the affiliate get paid on $23?

Just bad all the way around and I hope its not happenning to more affiliates.

Hope it all gets sorted out but the trust level is at about 0 now

That's good to know and IMO may support the theory (posted by someone at AGD) that PS is 'targetting' Paula to recoop the money they were forced to pay her last year.

    Dear Mojo,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, as after checking your account and seeing there were errors in the reports, our technical team began an investigation to identify and correct the problem,

After their findings we can conclude the following points,

    1. This error has occurred to a number of affiliate’s accounts, however, not the majority.

    2. We have identified this problem started to occur from July 2010 onwards, and affected all the stats in the affected affiliate accounts.

    3. Due to the way PlaySharePartners is built the stats get frozen after a few days post month end. This is due to currency fluctuations as we use one rate for each month. So to go back and change previous months stats could cause further problems and may affect other accounts, so instead we will be doing an audit on the affected affiliate accounts and establish the difference in earnings and pay the difference manually. This will take a few days to do

    4. We are in the process of fixing the issues in PlaySharePartners so that the stats from 1st November 2010 onwards will be accurate. This fix will be put in place in the next couple of days.

    5. The affected affiliates will be contacted directly over the next few days to be informed of what difference is due.

We can only apologise for not spotting this sooner, and we will continue to monitor the affiliate program to try prevent issues of this nature occurring.

    Kind Regards

    PlaySharePartners Management

There are still some unanswered questions.

Why were only some accounts affected? Why not all?

Can you be more specific about how the currency conversion issue affected Mojo's account?

    Specifically:

How did $50 in deposits turn into $25? Please explain the technical error and show the math.

How did the remaining $25 decrease to $23 owed? Again, please explain the technical error and show the math.

Why were Joe's numbers decreased by 30% instead of 50% like Mojo's?

    Dear Playshare,

Thank you for your response and for investigating the issues. Also for your willingness to address this here for all of us.

Affiliates simply want to bring players and count on the programs end to track. That's all. Engineer summed up the unanswered questions that I hope we can all address together.

I see that $100 has now been reflected on my account for Joe's Nov deposits. However, I am paid on $94. Could you please let us know what the $6 deduction is for?

    Thank you.

    Hi Engineer,

We will be able to respond to some of the other questions shortly, we are still gathering information.

But just to clear up some other points you mentioned.

The currency conversion does not affect Mojo’s account per se. Each month we freeze the data so that it can’t go back and get changed. The main reason for this as we have issues in the past when we update the currencies each month it has then slightly changed the numbers in all the previous months, so to get around this we freeze the data after the month end, then update the latest currency numbers for the new month. Therefore, if we went back and refreshed the data there is a chance that this will occur again, so instead we thought it would be best to manually work out the difference.

With regards to Joe’s numbers, this is a separate known issue where we don’t make the situation clear with regards to carryover’s of under $100. His earnings for that month were $141.84, then he had a carryover from previous months of $69.56, which adds up to his payment amount for that month of $211.40. This is in the pipeline to be fixed.

Note that we are still fixing the issue, so there may still be some errors for the next couple of days.

    Kind Regards

    PlaysharePartners Management

I wanted to note that the 15.47 is now reflected as 31.47 and I am being paid on 29.90.

So that one is NOT exactly 50% and is slightly more.

    2. We have identified this problem started to occur from July 2010 onwards, and affected all the stats in the affected affiliate accounts.
Please let us know if you are going to audit player by player? It does not appear to be 50% accross the board.

    Thanks.

The only way I will buy this story is if another GPWA member experience the same thing so until someone else can verify in this thread the same thing happened to them as Mojo I'm not gonna be happy about the explaination and will be leary of Playshare.

I'm sick of industry folks just taking the word of operators when issues arise and will not be one of them.
